Episode 10

Like a scene from a melodrama, face to face, we find Cha Hong Do, Jang Doo Soo, Go Yi Seok & Go Se Ro. Doo Soo is holding Hong Do’s arm while the others watch.

At the supermarket, Hong Do is smiling while the ‘ugly’ employees talk to her and even mention how red her face is. She is happy none the less. It’s the first time she shops in a supermarket. Yi Seok then asks her is she can cook. She does, she had been making side dishes for 7 years for Doo Soo. That’s why Yi Seok gets all jealous by himself and in turn Hong Do gets happy because he is jealous.

Granpa Go is sick and can’t go to the concert, so he has asked his assistant to call ‘Granny Hong Do’ and tell her they won’t go but he doesn’t want to reveal that he’s sick.

Hong Do is with Yi Seok in his apartment. They are gonna cook for each other. At that time Hong Do gets a phone call but she doesn’t answer. Its probably Grandpa Go’s assistant to give her the news. Yi Seok sees her hanging the phone and jokingly warns her not to cheat on him.

Just when they are all lovey dovey Yi Seok gets a call letting him know that his grandfather is in the hospital. Now, Hong Do knows! They leave the apartment, each one their way, with promise of re-taking it another day.

At her house, Doo Soo is waiting for Hong Do. He brings her food from his friend restaurant so she can (finally) try it. She half-heartedly takes it and he leaves.

At her door the box with Grandpa Go’s dress present is also waiting for her. Right then, she receives a call from Granpa Go’s assistant telling her that the plans have been cancelled. Granpa Go picks up the phone and asks her if she likes the gift. 

He then practically confesses to her and when he hangs up he is happy as goat.

Hong Do is relieved that Granpa Go is ok but a bit burdened y the gift. Then in the bag with Doo Soo’s food she finds a hairpin that he left for her as a present.

The next day Hong Do goes to the bank on her own. She asks for a loan. Yi Seok calls her right then to ask if she had cooked for him but she forgot.

At the police station a news team will be following Detetive Yang and Doo Soo and filming their work for a news article.

They are about to go out to look for a subject when Se Ro comes in. She is there to ‘gain experience for her new role’. And she is wearing high heels. Jaja She’s crazy like that.

Hong Do tells Yi Seok everything about her taking a loan to pay back Doo Soo for the payment he made for her. Then they start kissing. This is a habit now.

But then Grandpa Go arrives at the office!!

Grandpa Go wasn’t happy by the scene he found. After all Yi Seok has a bad reputation. He tells Yi Seok that he is settling all his affairs. He asks him to start settling himself and recommends that he go on a blind date with the daughter of a rich family.

Later in the car, Hong Do is jealous of the blind date proposition but Yi Seok shakes her worries away. Hong Do confesses that she would like to marry some day and Yi Seok practically lets her know that he’ll introduce her formally to his family later on.

Hong Do is waiting in front of Doo Soo’s house to give him back the money. She sends him a text saying that she needs to give something back. He won’t be able or willing to go there since he is at a stake out for a criminal.

Doo Soo goes chasing the criminal and later when he is at the police station tells her they won’t be able to meet today. I absolutely hate seeing him like this!

Meanwhile, Yi Seok is so in love that he is running around in his bicycle during the night.

He is so in love that he goes to Hong Do’s house in the middle of the night just because he wants to see her. He went there is his car, just in case. He sees her and decides to leave. He tells her they should take things slowly. He also tells her that he loves her. Repeatedly.

The next morning ‘Granny Hong Do’ goes to the Go mansion decided to quit. She doesn’t want to deceive them any longer. Just before going in, she gets a call from Doo Soo and they agree to see each other later. I have to admit; Hong Do rarely breaks character while she’s on her granny costume. Points for that!

Se Ro is making her presence known once more at the police station. She bought expensive coffee for everyone and put a crystal vase with flowers in Doo Soo’s desk. He is rejecting her every step. She instead lingers around him.

He made her take the flowers away. When Detective Yang offered to take them, she just took them without another word.

‘Granny Hong Do’ meets with Grandpa Go. He starts talking about a poem; anyone can tell he’s going to propose any moment now. Instead, ‘Granny Hong Do’ takes the lead and tells him she can’t work with him anymore. He immediately gets chest pains and ‘Granny Hong Do’ starts patting his back. He says he feels better when she did.

It seems Yi Seok is now confessing all his sins. Nah, he’s just opening up to his mentor Dr. Uhm.

He always had fear of patients because he couldn’t help his mom and was afraid they knew he had that incompetent side. But since Hong Do came into his life, he wanted to become a better self. He is all cured now of that fear but doesn’t tell Hong Do anything because he wants to be with her. He’s about to tell something else to Dr. Uhm but her mobile starts ringing and he say he has noting more.

Hong Do has arrived to work. She cooked a Thai dish that Yi Seok really likes. Just then Dr. Uhm says Yi Seok needs to make a consult at Gangnam Police Station, where Doo Soo works. He is caught in his own web, since he doesn’t want Hong Do to go, but doesn’t want to tell her he can see patients without her now.

In the end they go together. Doo Soo is all smiles for Hong Do and when she tries to give back the money he won’t accept it. Of course Yi Seok keeps interrupting every word of the conversation.

They see the criminal who has been setting various fires around. He’s trying to get a mental disease diagnose to get a reduce sentence but Yi Seok notices he’s lying. Hong Do notices that the criminal has matches hidden in his socks. When she mentions this, he attacks and grabs her by the neck as a hostage. Yi Seok, Doo Soo and Detective Yang jump to rescue her and put him under control once more.

Doo Soo finds Hong Do outside. She, once again, tries to give back the money but he just won’t take it. He puts her back in her pocket and explodes, saying what he’s wanting to say all this time.

He wants to go back as things were before. When she was in love with him and away from Yi Seok.

Yi Seok comes out followed by Se Ro. He urges Hong Do to come to his side but Doo Soo grabs her arm and tells him he won’t let her. He wont sent her to Yi Seok. Yi Seok gets mad and keeps telling Hong Do to come by his side or he will leave. So, Hong Do makes Doo Soo release her arm. Se Ro is surprised by the sudden love triangle that is taking place before her eyes.  Yi Seok grabs Se Ro by her hand too and makes her leave not before forbidding her of talking to Jang Doo Soo.

Granpa Go called for the Housekeeper. He is asking questions of what ifs. He wants to know how a woman like her, that has been alone for so many years, would react if a man like him would propose to her to live together. She gets all flustered, since she likes him, and says she would know when the question was asked. She’s getting her hopes high but he’s asking because he wants to know how ‘Granny Hong Do’ will react.

I told you, this is a habit now.

Hong Do knitted a scarf for Yi Seok and even thou he hates the colour; he says he will wear it because he’s trying his best.

Grandpa Go has pimped himself up and is ready to go on a date. Only, ‘Granny Hong Do’ has really no idea she is going on a date. Poor Housekeeper, she almost chocked when she was told Granpa Go was going on a date. She might as well start crying and whining.

At the police station Se Ro padded all the corners of the desks so that the officers won’t get hurt. She also put the flowers in milk cartons so that no one can use the crystal vase as a weapon. She left post-it notes practically saying Doo Soo is her first love. Doo Soo, seeing all these details looks touched and a little smile is creeping into his mouth and his eyes.

Grandpa Go was waiting in a fancy restaurant and as soon as ‘Granny Hong Do’ arrived he proposed to her and showed hear a huge pearl ring. He just told her “Let’s live together”.

Just then her mobile rang. A bit flustered, Grandpa Go excused himself to the bathroom. Hong Do picked her call and it was Yi Seok who is actually waiting in the other room. He heard a ruckus that was caused in the table next to Hong Do’s and noticed it was the same thing he was hearing live. He walks slowly to ‘Granny Hong Do’ and discovered that it was Hong Do in disguise.

That way we end this chapter. Will Yi Seok send Hong Do away for deceiving him? Maybe not, if he lets her talk and listens to what she has to say. After all, she had already quitted her job at the mansion. But he’s a jerk, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t hear her reasons. It seems that Se Ro’s tenacious and insistent character could be able to turn Doo Soo’s heart. Maybe he really likes the attention and the little details and that’s why he fell for Hong Do. Since Se Ro is doing all these now, he could spare her a look. I would like that. He deserves someone who loves him for real and Se Ro is really into him. I also like her character very much so it would be a great match. I also like how Hong Do used the helmet even less during this episode. That means she is more confident in herself to go out without it. Also that she cares about how her hair smells.
