Heart to Heart - Episode 8

Heart to Heart

Episode 8

Episode 8 starts with Cha Hong Do running in slow motion, with what seems to be side dishes packed on her hand. She has a new helmet and her hair is braided. She runs into Yi Seok’s office but he is hugging his ex-girlfriend. We see Hong Do start to fall but is grabbed and pulled back by Doo Soo. Boy, this is turning into a makjan.

Now, we go back to the beginning. Yi Seok is in a pharmacy thinking of buying medicine for Hong Do’s cold but he ‘realized’ she’s lovesick so he ends up not buying anything. While he is debating this Hong Do is in the car waiting for him but talking on her phone with Doo Soo. He looks like a boy in love.

They make an appointment to see each other the next day. He is looking forward to meet her but she is thinking of dropping whatever sort of relationship they have. To the end of the conversation, Yi Seok comes back into the car and Doo Soo hears him. He quickly goes from happy to this.

Now Yi Seok and Hong Do are eating and Hong Do tells him that she just wanted to hug him, that didn’t meant she wanted to date him or anything.

Yi Seok, you may have a mansion and an apartment but you sleep in your car.

They start to bicker as usual and Yi Seok starts to insult her, as usual and then he tells her that even when they don’t make a good match, the moment he hugged her he felt that she was his woman.

Detective Yang wants to go clubbing with Doo Soo but he doesn’t want to. He likes Hong Do, helmet and all. He thinks he doesn’t need to those places since he already has a girl.

Yi Seok takes Hong Do home and steals her helmet. He tells her to find 10 good qualities of herself. He tells her that she has pretty eyes, so she should work hard in finding the other 9. Yi Seok also takes a picture of her and refused to delete it even after telling her that she looked really ugly in it. -_-

He – finally – follows her home and meets her on the bridge. He hugs her and tells her everything the way it is. At least he can be honest. He says he’s lost his mind now, so he will date her but when he gets his senses back, she might get hurt. That she’s probably making a mistake since patients tend to fall for their doctors but that they should see it to the end. She agrees as they both feel really happy right now.

Hong Do tries to find these good qualities but she is not confident enough to find anymore.

That’s what I want to know too…

The next morning is time to go to work but she doesn’t have her helmet with her. She goes out of her place and wraps her head around the scarf that Doo Soo gave her. Yi Seok is waiting nearby and starts chasing after her. She doesn’t notices and runs like her life depended on it towards the clinic.

Early in the morning Se Ro is waiting for Doo Soo in front of the police station. She has 8 questions for him that he should answer truthfully and send to her email. That way she can make a decision. Jajaja. He looks so confused right now! She likes him but wants to add in all other factors to know if she should like him. Also, its sort of like he should feel it’s a privilege that she is considering to like him. What’s with the Go siblings that they are always in the ‘process’ of things?!

Hong Do finally arrives at the clinic and off they go to a consultation. He goes treat the twin sisters that came separately to his clinic. One of them has gone blind and is a psychological matter. It seems he sees himself in this situation since he had a twin brother that people loved more.

Doo Soo wants a picture of Hong Do so he is gonna ask her to send him one. Detective Yang is a bit more realist about it…

Yes, please. Do everyone a favour!!

Yi Seok talks to Dr Uhm about the twins’ case and he confesses that it was Hong Do who discovered that he was seeing himself in her. He also confesses that he feels he’s gonna get caught by Cha Hong Do.

Hong Do is waiting for Doo Soo in front of his house. She says she is sorry and that she is gonna reject his feelings. Since she has never done anything, she is going where her heart tells her to go. He tells her that she is confused, but still she once more says she’s sorry. He is such a gentleman that tells her its alright that she should go since is cold outside. Then he realizes she had left the scarf he had given her. How cruel. That’s how my heart just broke a piece.

The next morning Doo Soo is waiting for her outside her place. How can he still smile? :’(

He gives the scarf back. It was a present to her. He also tells her that he will do whatever he wants now. So he will love her regardless, even if it’s a one-sided love. He tells her to do whatever she wants and then come back to him. He will wait.

Confirmed! The housekeeper from the Go Mansion likes Grandpa Go but for his behaviour I think my previous suspicions are right. He likes ‘Granny Hong Do’.

Doo Soo drops Hong Do at her job and finds out that she is working at the Go Mansion. He doesn’t like that very much. Just when he’s leaving in his car, Se Ro comes in from her morning run.

She makes him stop his car. She thinks he came to give her the answers. But to her disappointment, he tells her he has someone he likes and cuts her off. Of course, she doesn’t believe this and brush it off as him ‘being shy’. Seriously, these Go siblings…

‘Granny Hong Do’ is helping Grandpa Go with the computer and she compliments him on his new cologne and his clothes, saying that he looks younger today. Is basically what the housekeeper was telling him, but he is accepting ‘Granny Hong Do’s’ compliments. They start talking about looks and people dyeing their hairs and she offers to do his. And yes, this is suddenly happening. I even wonder when they bought all this stuff. He likes her for sure!

Doo Soo is after one of his criminals and gets his hand injured in a knife fight. Well, technically the other guy had a knife and he didn’t. Also, I have the feeling he is being a bit reckless because he feels frustrated.

The next day, Yi Seok is waiting for Hong Do in front of her house. He gives her a helmet as a gift. She likes it a lot at first but then realizes that it doesn’t have a shield. At this Yi Seok just tells her she doesn’t need a shield anymore.

Go Yi Seok is still in his office late at night. He is studying, looking for answers that could help Hong Do with her anthorophobia. She calls him and finds out where he is and that he haven’t eaten yet. That brings us to the scene at the beginning. Hong Do is running towards the clinic, her new helmet on and her braided hair while carrying food for Yi Seok.

At that time Doo Soo calls Yi Seok and ask him to meet in the clinic. They have manly stuff to talk about.

Hong Do arrives at the clinic ready to surprise Yi Seok but finds out he is hugging another woman – his ex girlfriend -.

She starts to panic without knowing what to do and Doo Soo arrives. He notices what’s happening. Yi Seok notices Doo Soo and sees when he bends down, now realizing that Hong Do is in the floor. Regardless Doo Soo takes Hong Do’s hand and drags her out.

That’s it for this episode. We still don’t know why the ex came back but what we know is that their happy moment didn’t last very long. I hate seeing Doo Soo hurting, he is too good. And I hate seeing Yi Seok happy since he is still a jerk. A lot of possible love lines and love triangles keep forming here and there is sort of funny but it might get a bit complicated in the end.

Heart to Heart - Episode 7

Heart to Heart

Episode 7

As this chapter starts we can hear a little girl reading the story of Rapunzel, a princess locked away and alone in a tower that was later rescued by a prince and her one true love. This girl is little Cha Hong Do who is locked away in her closet. She already has a bad attitude. Jajaja

Then Hong Do grows and is still wearing the same clothes in the same closet. She’s still waiting for her prince, when she suddenly hears two voices. One is the handsome and considerate Jang Doo Soo and next to him is the annoying jerk Go Yi Seok. It seems that she will ultimately pick the jerk. Why? Beats me. Maybe she’s a masochist? She has a near perfect man caring for her, but she wants to run behind the a-hole. *Sighs*.

Now, we are back to the moment Cha Hong Do was desperately calling for the fire truck to pull over the clinic. She thinks Yi Seok is inside. But the truth is that he’s been watching her from his car this whole time. He looks far too happy about.

Hong Do comes out of the building and finds Yi Seok standing next to his car. She runs to strangle him and then gives up. Never give up Cha Hong Do!! She starts to leave; she had a date after all. Yi Seok tries to prevent her from leaving. He thinks is because he pranked her. He doesn’t know about her date.

Hong Do arrives at the bakery, she’s not expecting to see Doo Soo there after making him wait so much but… the heavens are open and the angelical chorus start… he is still waiting for her. He even thanks her for coming! Is he a saint or what?!

That’s a man, everybody…

Perfect-like-man Doo Soo emptied a fancy restaurant for Hong Do. But this is not like when your average Chaebol does it to show off money. He did it because he knew she would feel uncomfortable around people. He confesses that he’s not getting married and that he really wanted to see her. Hong Do ran away after hearing all this. Could she not contain her feels?

Yi Seok is in the Go mansion checking on his mom. She’s having a re-lapse because she slept with her husband (apparently they are still married) and now she is repenting. He then reaches for his phone to call non other than Hong Do.

She answers and tells him all about her micro date with Doo Soo, Yi Seok responds to everything like an old, jealous maid.

Se Ro is at the police station once again. She has come to thank Doo Soo for taking her home the night she was drunk. She tries to give him money for gas but he doesn’t want to accept it.

She has also lost one earring, probably on his car. They are now searching for it. Se Ro starts to vaguely remember that night, but when I say vaguely, I mean it. She remembers that there was someone singing that night and thinks it was Doo Soo when in fact it was a drunk that was using a tree as a restroom nearby. She has fallen for Doo Soo, since “he was the first man to sing to her”.

Meanwhile Hong Do is happy and thrilled that she spent a long 10 whole minutes with Doo Soo.

The next day at the clinic Yi Seok can’t believe that for Hong Do 10 minutes are a success. He tells her to practice with him looking into each other eyes. She should imagine he is Doo Soo. This whole façade quickly explodes in his face as he starts to want to kiss her and start blushing himself.

He then makes her an indecent proposal. They should go to his apartment and just sleep. Told you he wouldn’t be able to sleep without her. Then he tells her that if they do it, it would be even better. She, of course, leaves.

Outside, Jang Doo Soo is waiting for her. He bought a red scarf for her and put it on her neck himself.

He keeps making little confessions one after the other. He’s so sweet! Then Yi Seok ruins the moment. He starts with his jealous outburst and insults Hong Do. Doo Soo looks like he just wants to punch him in the face. Hong Do leaves and Yi Seok lowers his car window to have a talk with Doo Soo. Yi Seok thinks of himself as a mafia boss now.

He tells Doo Soo that he will have Hong Do. Doo Soo tells him that he won’t allow it.

As soon as Hong Do arrives at her home she gets a phone call from Doo Doo. He wants to know if she arrived well. He also wants to take her to work but she declines. He has been making many little confessions but he must feel that he needs to make the record straight.

He tells her that he likes her, is not pity or sympathy. He even kept everything that she gave him. Even all the little notes that came with the side dishes she made for him.

The next morning Doo Soo comes by Hong Do’s house and found out that she needs to pay or she will be kick out to the streets. She is in her granny costume and meets him outside. He offers to take her but she says no. He starts to walk her to the bus stop and even puts his arm around her and she runs away. It’s frustrating really. She is the one that confessed first. I know of her condition, but she wants him and still keeps pushing him away. And he is just too sweet.

‘Granny Hong Do’ arrives at the Go mansion and commotion reigns in the place. Yi Seok’s mom took too many sleeping pills and was taken out in Yi Seok’s back. Hong Do then goes into her room, without anyone knowing and without consent. Why?! You shouldn’t do that!! She sees Yi Seok’s mom suicide note.

Hong Do learns the story of Il Suk, Yi Seok’s older twin that died before. Their personalities where different and everyone loved Il Suk a little bit more. Why is the picture in black & white?

Yi Seok’s mom is in the hospital and Yi Seok has decided he will take care of her himself. Because of this, he’s not answering his phone. Random detail, but we know because Hong Do is worried and is calling him but can’t reach him.  What will she tell him once he wonders how she found out? In the end she calls the Go mansion posing as ‘granny Hong Do’ and asks for Yi Seok’s mom wellbeing.

Yi Seok mans up and goes to his father. Even thou he warns his father (very vaguely) his father still disregards him. But Yi Seok hasn’t seen the end of this. He decides to humiliate him in front of a colleague – or whatever that other guy is – and tells him to earn their trust slowly.

While everyone is in their turmoil of sadness and wariness, Doo Soo and Detective Yang talk about what they would like in a couple. Doo Soo says he wishes to look each other in the eyes and hold hands the most. He would also like to have children with Hong Do.

Hong Do keeps calling Yi Seok but he still doesn’t answer. That’s why she decides to go out and find him.

On her way out she meets Doo Soo. He has just come to her because he really wanted to see her. And he manages to make her lower her guard, meaning lower her hand from her face.

This really sucks. This girl is in love with this awesome guy and somehow he falls for her. But now, she likes some other jerk. I think that’s why she’s lowering her guard. What about Doo Soo? What about DOO SOO!!!

He takes her to the empty restaurant again and talks about how he sent money to her landlady because of the earlier encounter.

He also tells her that he hates seeing her with Go Yi Seok. Makes him want to punch Yi Seok. Get in line… And he says the sweetest thing. That he will always cherish her and love her. Right on cue, her phone rings. Doo Soo guess in Yi Seok and takes her phone to answer himself. Yi Seok is drunk. Doo Soo tells him not to call again and advices Hong Do to turn her mobile off to avoid the drunken calls.

Hong Do, now alone at her home is battling herself. Should she call Yi Seok? Should she avoid him since Doo Soo hates it? She opts to ‘hide’ the phone. That doesn’t matter since she keeps worrying about Yi Seok.

She spends the whole night making side dishes for Doo Soo but worried sick for Yi Seok. In the morning she turns her mobile back on and is disappointed when the first call she gets is from Jang Doo Soo. He thanks her for the side dishes and tells her to go to the doctor and get treated, that even if he doesn’t like it, he will hold it in because he cares about her. Isn’t he lovely!

Hong Do gets sick (literally). Even when Yi Seok tells her not to go to work like that, she rushes to the office.

She confesses that she is confused because she really likes Doo Soo but keeps thinking of Yi Seok and wants to hug him. So, Yi Seok tells her “Then hug me”. He likes this far too much.

And she does and even when she is sick they kiss, again.

That’s the end of this chapter. It kills me to see how the good guys always end up being thrown aside. Why is it they are not appreciated by the female leads? She was the one who liked him first! Ah, never mind my little rant. It seems that Yi Seok and Hong Do are gonna get together now. I wonder what’s gonna happen now for the drama to keep on going. I bet it’s gonna have to do with the whole ‘Granny Hong Do’ thing and her stealing Yi Seok’s mom suicide letter. Ah, yes, she did that. Well, we will have to keep watching.
